Parksville/Qualicum beach Tuesday bird walk, June 07, 2016

The Tuesday bird walk went to Springwood Park in Parksville. The morning was sunny and very warm, but cooler in the forest. A pair of colorful  Western Tanager’s were spotted playing in the tall trees just above the trail. We watched a Hairy Woodpecker feeding in the tall snags. Three Willow Flycatchers were singing near the road as we walked by. We had great views of a  McGillivray's Warbler feeding on the short bushes along the road. The best sighting of the morning was a young fledgling Common Yellowthroat feeding not far from the road.
